Bill and Fran are natives of Arkansas. They married in 1979. They have a son, Will, two daughters, Helen and Janette, and several grandchildren. Bill studied at Southern Methodist University (B.B.A., 1977), The University of Arkansas (J.D., 1982), and Dallas Theological Seminary (Th.M., 1987).

His interests today are his family, discipling men, reading (particularly Reformation history), and the transmission history and reliability of the Bible. “The story of how God's Word has come to us is a fascinating story, filled with drama and conviction. It has liberated people and entire societies.
